I don't know about you.... but I felt like one night I was 29 and not really caring about what products I used as long as my skin was clean and moisturized. That was all that mattered! Then, waking up 30 and having a good look at my skin and its texture and elasticity and the puffy eyes from lack of sleep or the frown lines of stress and realising yep.....its time to take much better care of my skin and really invest in good skin care products that work. I need products that have key ingredients to help repair, strengthen and brighten your skin. Being in your 30's hopefully you are already regularly practicing skin care basics, But now it's time to kick it up a notch to start repairing some sun damage and first signs of aging.
Cleansers-
There is no specific cleanser to use in your 30's, the truth is that the cleanser`s sole purpose is to wash and remove makeup, oil and dirt off your skin. So don't worry about looking for anti-aging washes with high quality ingredients, it's not on your skin long enough to actually "repair" your skin and penetrate deep like a moisturizer. So save your money for the lotions and masks and just look for a product that suits your needs. If you`re dry, look for a gentle cream cleanser, if you find your skin is oily look for a foam cleanser. Lastly to remove your mascara and eye liner product, use a gentle oil-free eye makeup remover with a cotton pad and pat gently to remove your eye makeup, liner and lashes. Don't be to aggressive with that delicate eye area, go slow and pat to remove your eye makeup before you wash your face.

Day Time Moisturizers-
Now is the time to kick it up a notch with some specific key ingredients when you`re thinking about a great day and night moisturizer. Not all your products need to be high priced but some are worthy of spending more on. Moisturisers and serums are worth the cost to help repair and get a better quality ingredients list. Things to look for in a day moisturizer are "Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, Antioxidants and Sunscreen" Those are the most important ingredients in your day moisturizer to help protect your skin from further sun damage and loss of elasticity. The SPF needs to be more then just a 15 SPF to actually work. If you`re already in love with a good moisturizer that does not contain sunscreen in it, then buy it separately and just pop it in top of your moisturizer before your foundation. "Peptides are a protein molecule that signals skin to make more collagen. Collagen is what makes young skin firm and tight. As we age, collagen is destroyed and young skin becomes thinner and more wrinkled over time.`` A moisturizer with peptides can help slow the skin's aging process. "Hyaluronic Acid is a innovative break-through in safety and purity - with very low molecular weight that can reach the deep skin layers to boost the skin's ability to create moisture itself, to minimize the appearance of deep wrinkles and improve skin's elasticity."

Night Time Moisturizers
These are very different from your day time moisturizers, you don't need the SPF and you can use ingredients to help repair your skin while you sleep. Skin cell renewal rate is higher and faster at night than during the day. Your cell regeneration almost doubles at night. Skin is also more receptive to active ingredients at night, so it's better to apply products with active ingredients at night as your skin will absorb the active ingredients much better. Ingredients to look for in a night cream:
Alpha Hydroxy Acid is great for its exfoliating properties by dissolving the top layer of dead skin.. The disappearance of the old skin cells reveals newer, smoother skin.
Citric Acid: Derived from oranges, lemons, and other citrus fruit.
Glycolic Acid: Derived from sugar cane.
Lactic Acid: Derived from milk.
Malic Acid: Derived from apples and pears.
Tartaric Acid: Derived from grapes.
Beta Hydroxy Acid is another exfoliating ingredient that is fat soluble, and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles in oily skin by working deep into the pores. This ingredient is known as salicylic acid.
Retinol comes from the vitamin A found in fish oil and in liver. Retinol reduces the appearance of fine lines and deep
wrinkles to improve the look of collagen while reduce the appearance of large pores.

Under Eye Care-
I love a good eye cream and there are so many out there to choose from, but ultimately it depends on your skin`s needs. If you are super dry and dehydrated or if you have darkness or puffiness, the key ingredients you want to keep in mind are "Caffeine, Cucumber, Green Tea, and Ginseng. These will all help to naturally reduce puffiness under the eye while anti-aging ingredients like Retinol Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides help to plump out fine lines, strengthen and tighten the skin under the eye.

Treatments-
Lastly and probably my favorite thing to do is to pamper my skin with a weekly treatment. I love a good face scrub, mud masque or Hydrating masque. Again it just depends on your skin`s needs.
If your skin is feeling dull use a face scrub. If your skin is oily use a mud mask to draw out excess oil, and if your skin is dry and feeling tight use a hydrating mask. Treatments are meant to be used only once a week, so see how your skin feels and use what it needs to help keep it at a happy balance.
