Now is the time to really start taking care of your skin, the more care you do now the less you'll need to worry about in your 30's....trust me!
How can you start to take care of your skin while still in your 20's? Don't even think about hopping into bed with out washing the day`s oil, sweat and makeup off your skin. Every night you need to wash your face even if you don't wear a lot of makeup. It keeps your skin and pores cleaned so you don't end up with large pores and blotchy skin. Environmental damage plays a huge part in the early signs of aging, smoking is a big no-no and put down the pop and alcohol and start drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated naturally. Gone are the days you can sit out side and suck up the sun with zero sunscreen on, so slap on the 30 SPF or higher every day.
Cleansers-
Before you start washing all your face makeup off, use a gentle eye makeup remover like Bioderma Sensitive eye makeup remover with a cotton ball and gently remove all the mascara and eye liner off your eyes before you wash your skin. Next, wash your skin everyday with a cleanser that is right for your skin type. If you`re oily with blemishes or you get a few blemishes at PMS time, use a cleanser with salicylic acid in it to help get deep in the pores and treat blemishes and future blemishes like
Neutrogena foam Cleanser while washing your makeup off. And for dryer skin types, use a sensitive cream cleanser like Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser.
Moisturize-
Once your skin has been cleaned it's time to apply a light weight moisturizer that has a built-in SPF for daily protection like Cetaphil oil control moisturizer with SPF 30. But if the plan is to sit by the pool all day, then you'll need something higher every few hours to protect your skin like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer face protection. If your skin is oily this doesn't mean you get to skip this step in your skin care regime, it still needs to be properly hydrated.
Eye Creams-
Its always a good idea to take good care of your under eye area and what better age than to start in your 20's. The skin under your eye is much more delicate so be gentle and use a ring finger to tap eye cream under the eye area every morning and night. Try Garnier Anti-puff Eye Roller Gel.
