Melissa is a freelance makeup artist with over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry.
She trained at CMU College of Makeup Art & Design, and quickly became a skin analysis technician for head office at CLINIQUE Toronto. Melissa then worked at MAC Cosmetics Bloor Street for 8 years, then opened her own business as a freelance Makeup Artist at Make Me Beautiful.
Melissa has taken every precaution possible after Covid-19 hit us all, Melissa completed many online courses to protect all of her clients and to move forward in the safest way possible. Melissa completed an Infection Prevention and Control course, Barbicide Covid-19 safety course, Dermalogica Clean Touch certificate and a PREempt Infection Prevention Training.
Melissa is a full-time freelance makeup artist that works year round creating countless bridal looks for wedding parties all over the GTA, Simcoe and Muskoka areas. Melissa enjoys the opportunity to work on Corporate Headshots/Rebranding, Commercials, Editorials and special events. She continues to further her learning every year by updating her product knowledge, and perfecting her craft with the latest makeup and airbrush trends.
Recently Melissa has had the opportunity to work on several commercials as the key set hair & makeup artist/ wardrobe stylist for Larche working on amazing commercial advertisements. Melissa has also worked on several commercial adds on a makeover show for OMNI 2 Television, and was chosen as the key assistant makeup artist on a short film called "Nigel's Fingerprints" for the Toronto Film Festival. She has worked on the set of "Four Senses" season 4 providing hair/makeup services for MasterChef U.S.A winner Christine Ha. Her artistry can be seen on photoshoots with "Poppy and Peonies" for their new summer handbag line, and she has been the on set hair/makeup artist for commercials with ADS Media as well as Pop Film Inc. Melissa has been featured in "The People of Barrie" and was the key artistic director for several fashion shows produced by PIE Media, working her magic backstage creating many avant-garde looks for runway fashion shows by PIE Media, and numerous creative editorial photoshoots published in "PIE Magazine". She has been featured as a guest speaker on Rogers Daytime T.V show twice for a live makeover segment discussing bridal makeup and hair trends. Her work can also be seen numerous popular wedding magazines including TODAY'S BRIDE, Toronto's fashion and wedding magazine, HITCHED, Ontario's Bridal Magazine, WEDDING TRENDS, Simcoe's Wedding magazine as well as "Life and Styles Magazine Canada". Melissa has donated her time and passion to create makeup looks for several charity events with Sick Kids Hospital, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, The M.A.C AIDS Foundation and the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation.
Melissa loves the opportunity to learn and be creative in a team environment on editorial and commercial work. She also enjoys glamming up wedding parties on their special day, and teaching makeup lessons to clients of all ages.
